The mission statement of The Irish Blue Cross is to promote responsible pet ownership and to offer affordable veterinary care to pet owners whose financial circumstances prohibit access to private veterinary care, as defined by a list of means tested benefits (see page 2 of our Welcome leaflet ).
You will be required to show proof of means tested Government benefits, as listed in our eligibility criteria, to avail of our charitable veterinary services. You must bring your medical card or a receipt from the post office with the name of your payment on it. Alternatively, you will be asked to provide a letter from the Social Welfare Office stating the name of the benefit you are receiving. This must be dated within the last 3 months. A social services card will not suffice as proof unless the benefit you are receiving is named on the card.
Clinics operate from 6.30pm – 8pm. Clients are advised to arrive early. Last registration is 7.30pm.
*Ballyfermot mobile clinic runs from 7pm – 8pm. Last registration no later than 7.45pm.
Please note that if your pet requires additional medication, there will be an additional fee and our vet will advise you of this in advance.
Additional donations to support our services in the community are welcome.
If your dog has fouled, please ensure to clean up after. Always carry poo-bags or we can supply you with one from our mobile clinic.
Keep your dog under control at all times and out of children's play areas. For the safety and comfort for all our clients, we would kindly request clients to keep their dog on a lead and cats in a carrier.
